The Gun Rights War

So lets go to the mat and make ALL our rights important.

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld ordinances barring the ownership of handguns in most cases in Chicago and suburban Oak Park, Ill.
Judge Frank Easterbrook, an appointee of President Ronald Reagan, said that "the Constitution establishes a federal republic where local differences are to be cherished as elements of liberty rather than extirpated in order to produce a single, nationally applicable rule."

Chris replies:
Mike, you raise some good points. Gun rights are not a liberal/conservative split. They are a freedom/control split. Power to the people.
Don't let the government take these rights away.

Chris replies:
Neil, pardon me while I engage in pettifoggery. Article 2 is the article dealing with executive power. Amendment II recognizes the right to keep and bear arms. Implicit in the language is that it is a pre-existing right that rather than being GRANTED, is RECOGNIZED. The distinction is lost on some, but it's an important one. But I support your sentiments. That's what we're all about!

I've been following you guys and my hat's off to you. Great job. I am periodically forced to venture into the People's Republic of California (PRC) due to the presence of in-laws. I'll look you up when I'm over that way.
